New to Teaching Workshop: Business & Management, Finance & Accounting, Hospitality & Tourism, Marketing.

Aim: To bring together new and aspiring academics in Business & Management, Finance & Accounting, Hospitality & Tourism, Marketing and associated disciplines to discuss common challenges and consider opportunities for the future.

Activities

o network and share career pathway experiences to date ;

o outcomes of recent ‘New Lecturers’ projects including the ‘Insiders Guide’ Open Education Resource;

o what ‘Academic Practice’ and ‘Being Academic’ means;

o teaching/research/support/service balancing acts and the changing nature of HE in the UK;

o development needs and career opportunities including the UK PSF and HEA Fellowship categories;

o finding and using open access resources;

o discuss discipline-specific contexts where numbers allow.

The workshop is free to attend, but spaces are limited. Booking opens 5 March.

Attendees may be eligible for help with travel costs via the UK Travel Fund.
