2.30 – 3.00pm Make your Olympic Placement Bid: What are the benefits of networking with contractors offering fixed term opportunities at prestige sites, for students and the universities profile? Hear from the Project Manager for the Catering offer at the Main Media Centre for the 2012 Olympics. Explore the opportunities for hospitality students and graduates as well as Universities at the Olympics whilst providing a first-hand glimpse into one aspect of the hospitality offer. 3.00-4.00pm The Art of Service: Fred Sirieix, Trainer in the recent BBC TV series 'Michel Roux's Service' is the award-winning General Manager at Galvin at Windows, the Michelin-starred restaurant at the London Hilton on Park Lane. His inspired new training tool, The Art of Service, cleverly teaches the very essence of what hospitality and service in the restaurant business are all about. 4.30 – 5.15pm Mr LinkedIn - "Connecting the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful”: A UK based certified LINKEDIN Expert and Trainer who has trained hundreds of people throughout the UK this year alone. His workshops are a practical and non-technical explanation of the best way to get this amazing free tool to work for you, your placements and students. Mark Williams

7.30pm – 11.00pm Dinner – 2nd Floor Restaurant, Harvey Nichols: During dinner enjoy a Harvey Nichols fashion show presentation of career wear.
After dinner we will hear from Andrew Thorp a communication skills coach and the Founder of Speakeasy Groups. He will speak about "Storytelling is influence in disguise". He describes himself as someone with an itch - what bothers him is that people with something fantastic to offer don't do themselves justice when they have an opportunity to pitch their idea. Invariably they present the facts, but don't tell the STORY.

9.45 -10.30am Pitching to the Dragons Den: Getting your own ‘pitch’ right, lessons from a survivor. The students 'pitch' and how you can help them improve it.. Tatty Bumpkin/Select Momentum show how their experience in pitching in the Dragons Den TV programme helped them reflect on their own business model. They share lessons learnt on their business development and how you might approach advising students on their presentations and interviews as well as how best for them to pitch to banks or investors. 11.00 – 12.00pm THE Debate – ‘The Unpaid Placement’: There is a huge debate forming around the issue of unpaid work placements. Are you in favour or against the idea of unpaid work placements as a means of talent development? Get your voice heard and add to conference research via our interactive voting system. Hear from our international panel of educators, employers and students. Chaired by Angie Maher, Oxford Brookes University
12.00 – 12.30pm Making the business case for work placements – are you convincing enough? Many of us are finding ourselves competing for ever decreasing resources in our universities and businesses. So how do you make the case for securing the required resources necessary to support work placements? Judie Gannon presents on the value added that will help you make a clearer case for the benefits of investing in this type of workforce development. Dr Judie Gannon, Oxford Brookes University
12.30 – 1.00pm Have you considered adding Accommodation Management placements to your network? Springboard's ‘Room to Change’ Career's Campaign is helping to overcome some perception challenges associated with accommodation management. Research shows that work placements help to dispel some of the old thoughts around this subject. This session will share the results from Springboard research, and highlight the unique development opportunities available to educators and employers through accommodation management.
