Emma is a Principal Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University where she
is the Programme Leader for postgraduate courses in hospitality,
tourism, events, nutrition and food at the Sheffield Business School.
Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam in 2002 she worked for 4 years at
Nottingham University Business School where she undertook her PhD on
the employment relationship in small hospitality firms.
Her current research and consultancy work is based on lifestyle
employment in hospitality, the employment relationship in small firms
and wider aspects of employment and HRM in the hospitality and
tourism industries. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate
courses in the areas of Human Resource Management and Organizational
Behaviour and supervises a number of doctoral students in the area of
work and employment in hospitality.
