Peter Lugosi

Peter is a Reader at the Oxford School of Hospitality Management. His work draws on sociology, geography and anthropology in examining contemporary hospitality. He has researched and published on a wide range of subjects including experience management, consumer participation, hospitality and urban regeneration, migrants’ experiences of hospitality work, research ethics, queer culture, entrepreneurship and organisational culture. He has helped to lead and manage several collaborative research projects, assuming various roles in obtaining funding, conducting research and in developing subsequent publications. These have included studies funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, European Commission and the Higher Education Academy’s Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Network. Peter co-founded the Hospitality & Society journal, and he is currently the Controversies and Reviews Editor. He serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Business Anthropology, International Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Peter also serves on the scientific committees of several international conferences and has helped to organise numerous successful conferences, workshops and conference streams on hospitality related themes.
